Oasis 1.0

After setting up the pool, we created a temporary seating area to prevent debris from getting into the pool. Using soil from the pool area, we backfilled stackstone walls and covered the path beside the pool. We added outdoor mats, furniture, and a temporary shade, creating a comfortable summer oasis while we plan the final landscaping.

Wardrobe Malfunction

Ok, this is one of the last spring projects…I think. We will see…but anyways, our bedroom closet has always been an issue since we moved in. We don’t have a walk-in closet, so for the two of us, the closet is very small. Kurt actually keeps all of his clothes in the spare room beside…

Pretty Picture Mask

Back in February we re-did a wall in our basement bedroom. It was old panel board that had been painted a dull green. We ended up replacing it with drywall, which was an adventure for us because neither of us had ever even helped someone else drywall before, so it was a lot of YouTube…

Perspectives of the Throne

I have been wanting to make our deck more of a “space”, meaning the until now we have thrown a few chairs on it and called it a day. It is a small deck, long and somewhat narrow, so it has been low on my list of areas to make comfortable and enjoyable to hang…

Displayed

After many delays, we are just about finished the renovations to the spare bedroom. After we finished painting, and before we moved all the furniture back in, I wanted to get the shelves framed and finished. What should have been a fairly quick job did not turn out to be a quick job. I had…

Then & Now – Random Projects

Over the years we have done some updates to the house. Some out of necessity, but most out of desire to make changes. We were lucky that the house itself had been renovated and was very modern looking inside, so there was no pressing updates that we needed to work on. That let us focus…

Shelved

The final addition to our bedroom renovation was some new bedside tables. The old ones were quite large and I didn’t think they would fit nicely with our new, larger, bed in our small room. I had thought about building some smaller bedside tables, but while cleaning out my office one day prior to renovating…

Sweet Dreams

Now that the flooring upgrade was done, it was time to upgrade the bed. Kurt and I are both tall, and we have two 55-70 lb dogs that often like to come and cuddle with us in the night. Our queen size bed has been far too small for a very long time. Even without…

200 Ramblings

WOWZA! This is the 200th rambling post that I have written. I am so glad that so many of you continue to enjoy our fumbling and bumbling through landscaping our yard, and have now also been sucked into reading about our favourite garden recipes as well as some of the other hobbies and projects we…

Ellie’s Throne Plans

As promised, here are the build plans and supplies list to build Ellie’s Throne. Although we used it for our dogs to enjoy, they are very comfortable chairs and could be a nice addition to your home for people to enjoy instead. If making them for your own enjoyment, then I recommend either purchasing cushions,…
